For children add a combination of 1 drop Lavender essential oil, 1 drop Tea Tree essential oil and 1 drop Tagetes essential oil to a bowl of warm water and soak the child’s feet twice a day. Alternatively put the essential oils into 10ml carrier oil and massage into the affected area.
FOR VERRUCAES: A simple treatment can be tried using essential oils of Lemon and Tea Tree. Local treatment can be effective but if the sufferer has a lot of verrucas then try massage in the form of long stokes up the leg from the ankle to the thigh with oils of Geranium, Grapefruit, Juniper and Rosemary diluted in carrier oil. FOR BLISTERS: Blisters of the kind that occur due to rubbing by shoes are best dealt with by covering with gauze that has a few drops of Lavender essential oil sprinkled on it. If the blister is larger it may be more comfortable to puncture it with a sterilised needle before applying neat Lavender essential oil on gauze. Myrrh essential oil can be added in equal proportions to the Lavender essential oils and is valuable if the blister is damp. Benzoin essential oil can be helpful afterwards to help the skin to heal. Benzoin can also aid vulnerable parts of the foot to prevent blisters for those who suffer from these regularly.
Do not cover blisters with plasters as the skin needs to breathe and leave shoes and socks off as much as possible to allow the air to reach the skin. |
